Supervisor - Civil - 262479 We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?
UGL Utilities team is currently looking for a Supervisor - Civil to commence on site on one of our projects in North Queensland. The project involves the design, construction, and installation of high voltage transmission lines and switching substations. The position will be based on site (FIFO Brisbane) on a 10/4 roster.
UGL'S Utilities team designs, constructs, and maintains critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors, including power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment plants, and water pipelines.
Key Responsibilities: Supervision of civil subcontractors and UGL operators safely constructing access tracks and tower pads (including bench sites) for lattice transmission towers. Co-ordination of imported fill from suppliers, ensuring material is delivered in accordance with the Powerlink specification. Co-ordination of plant and crews along the easement. Ensuring adherence to Powerlink technical specifications, particularly key hold points, ensuring works do not progress unless witnessed by nominated observers. Oversee/run toolbox meetings/Daily Prestart meetings to foster a close and productive team environment. Allocate daily tasks to all leading hands/direct reports, monitoring their productivity, efficiency, attitude, and general work standards while adhering to HSSEQ policies and meeting project deadlines. Maintain daily diaries ensuring resources on site are recorded, along with productivity achieved each day. Track daily and weekly attendance and overall working hours, ensuring weekly timesheet accuracy. Understanding project schedule requirements and driving leading hands, labour, and subcontractors to achieve project targets. Minimum Requirements: A certificate in civil construction. Experience within the transmission industry in a team lead/supervisory role. Strong planning and coordination skills. A proven record driving continuous improvement. Demonstrated organisational capabilities. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access & Outlook. Knowledge of LEAN principles. Experience with Primavera, MS Project, SAP, and civil foundations for transmission lines, along with relevant Civil Engineering qualifications are highly desirable.
