Job Description - Project Controls Lead (262441)
About the role: UGL are seeking an experienced Projects Control Lead to join our team on an ongoing basis working on a major Oil & Gas project.
Commencing ASAP, you will be working a 5/2 roster within Perth CBD, point of hire is Perth, WA.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Direction : Lead and mentor the project team, ensuring active commitment to safety and productivity. Performance Monitoring : Develop and review Project Controls performance, assess resource progress, and implement performance measurement processes to benchmark success. Stakeholder Engagement : Foster strong working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, Chevron, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Continuous Improvement : Identify, develop, and propose opportunities for enhancement, and track trends to drive ongoing improvements in project controls. Resource Management : Oversee the scheduling of direct reports, ensuring accurate reporting and timely outputs. Collaboration & Coordination : Facilitate meetings and ensure effective coordination of Project Controls inputs and outputs across all team members. Problem Resolution : Tackle day-to-day challenges, proactively managing risks and ensuring the project stays on track. Reporting & Compliance : Ensure all project controls reports are delivered on time with detailed analysis and actionable mitigation strategies. Training & Development : Select and train personnel, fostering a team environment and ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. Project Delivery : Oversee the design, planning, and execution of all project activities, ensuring safe and successful delivery from design to completion. About you: Proven experience in a Project Controls Lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope. Strong understanding of Project Control trends both within the company and general market patterns. Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
