Having commenced high-grade underground mining and processing plant refurbishment activities, the aim is to be pouring gold at Paulsens by the end of 2024.Most importantly, we are building a strong team of highly engaged and motivated individuals, who are committed to building a positive and fun workplace culture, making Black Cat a great company to work for!We're looking for a Planning Engineer who is not afraid of a challenge and is passionate about making a difference to be a part of the Paulsens Underground Mine Start Up!Working in collaboration with the Senior Mine Engineer and Alternate UG Manager, you will be responsible for the mid-term to longer-term mine planning activities of the UG mine by developing effective plans, designs, and strategies to optimise mining productivity.About the OpportunityKey accountabilities of the position are to:Prepare, review and audit mid to longer-term mine designs and plans ensuring any risks to plans are identified and mitigated.Prepare schedules in support of forecasts, budget or specific projects or initiatives.Collaborate with operations, geology, metallurgy, geotechnical, and production engineer teams for safe and practical design and mine plan execution.Complete stope designs to maximise economic extraction of ore.Support Senior Engineer with ventilation statutory activities.Undertake mine infrastructure analysis and projects to improve ventilation, water, and de-watering systems.About YouWe are seeking a positive and motivated 'can do' individual with adaptive thinking, who enjoys autonomy in their role with an ability to prioritise, analyse and problem solve who has the following:Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Experience in underground mining, preferably gold, in a planning engineer position with exposure to various mining methods, engineering and mine ventilation.Exposure to capital projects and cost estimation across a wide range of mining activities and support services.User of mine planning and scheduling software packages preferably Deswik (CAD and UGDB) and user of Ventsim.Western Australian Underground Supervisors Certificate of competency desirable, or the ability to obtain.Ability to work collaboratively, and with a diverse range of people across all levels who understand we are all in this together.Working in a collaborative manner, with an expectation to have fun along the way, the UG Mining Team will together, optimise development, grade and productivity!At times you may be involved in something new and different, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow, be a team player and support site priorities.Being part of the inaugural team means you will be exposed to many aspects of the Company so as we grow, you grow!Black Cat is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that is representative of the wider community and building an organisation which provides equal opportunities for all its employees.We expect all our Employees to display a clear commitment to safety, the environment and social responsibility and to actively demonstrate values found within our Code of Conduct in day-to-day interactions with employees, contractors, and the communities in which we operate.Black Cat Syndicate offers a competitive salary along with opportunities for career progression, great working environment and a family-friendly lifestyle.If you are ready for a challenge, and to be part of a motivated and dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.
