Job Summary: In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover.
Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities: Work Planning & Packaging: Prepares construction drawings and sketches and interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.Material Management: Initiates requisitions for field purchases and prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.Quantities: Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.Safety / Quality Control: Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Technical: Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.For Direct Hire: Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development, reviews and approves inspection test plans, and coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in large construction projects, LNG, Energy or Oil & Gas is preferred.Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures and Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including TEAMWorks Completions Module or Smart Completions, Infoworks or Aconex, is preferred.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.Ability to operate standard office equipment.Good written and verbal communication skills.Additional Information: This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include extensive walking in and around an active construction site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends), and work in inclement weather.
Some lifting may be required.
Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products are permitted to be brought to the site.
