Role description: We are looking for an Electrical Designer with extensive experience in mining, industrial, and mineral processing projects. Our client is currently executing a major Rare Earths project and is seeking an experienced designer to lead the electrical team.
Role Accountabilities: Assist the Lead Electrical Engineer and Lead I&C Engineer with the production of drawing deliverables through the following activities: Create and maintain a drawing deliverable list and keep track of progress – the MDR should be used as a starting point for this list. Planning and scheduling of design activities in conjunction with the Engineering Leads. Oversee the activities of designers that are under the Lead Designer's leadership. Participate in technical discussions and provide technical input into the design as required. High-level checking of design deliverables for drawing quality. Identify changes in scope and provide input to PDNs where required. Maintain a complete master markup folder of all the latest E I & C discipline drawings. Keep abreast of changes in plant layout/model (directly or indirectly) through regular inter-discipline communication. Assist with the production of other deliverables such as MTOs as called upon by the Lead Engineers. Keep abreast of Vendor interfaces in the design and ensure they are implemented when Vendor data is received. Attend and contribute to meetings including weekly internal discipline meetings and design review meetings. Provide progress updates to detailed design deliverables. Qualifications & Experience: Demonstrated experience in electrical design across mineral processing, industrial, and mining projects will be highly regarded. Proven experience managing and mentoring designers including checking of design deliverables for drawing quality. Experience with SmartPlant suite to investigate and assist with the implementation of SPEL and SPI for the project. Capability to work in a large collaborative team environment to drive a project to conclusion. The ability for collaborative engagement of functional groups and other stakeholders to achieve the project goals. Communication effectiveness using various mediums to deliver a variety of information and messages. TRS Staffing Solutions has a global reach for many exciting and challenging projects.
