This is a unique opportunity for a Mining Engineer based in the Southwest to hang up the FIFO boots but still work on a mining operation with the luxury of being home every night. This role is based at our Wonnerup Mine Site in the picturesque southwest, a stone throw from Busselton. This is a full time 12-month contract with the possibility of on-going work.
Working a 38-hour week compressed into a 9-day fortnight, you can enjoy the southwest lifestyle even more with a 3-day weekend every second weekend!
Our Wonnerup Mine Site is a key component of Tronox's operations in Western Australia, producing mineral sands essential for our integrated titanium dioxide process.
Reporting to the Mining Operations Manager , the Mining Engineer will be accountable for:
Maintaining effective working relationships with the operational teams to ensure the efficient execution of designs and schedules Preparation of budgets physicals and costs for mining and rehabilitation Prepare accurate weekly and monthly schedules in line with the budget and LOM plans Developing and implementing practical mine plans for the production teams and mining contractor Design, schedule and execution plan for land reformation prior to rehabilitation Develop plans for tailings management including schedules Actively contribute in the preparation of LOM plans and project development studies Provide financial analysis for cost reduction initiatives Carry out optimisation, generate pit design, perform financial analysis and planning of long-term mining projects. Monitor/report production activities/variances within the mine to identify risks and opportunities to improve designs and productivity. About you To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering Quarry Manager certificate is preferred, but not essential High level competence in use of scheduling and OP design software such as Vulcan, Surpac and Minesched What Next?
