We have immediate opportunities for skilled people to undertake world-leading training in the United States (U.S), setting you up for a secure career back home in the nuclear-powered submarine program - Australia's largest-ever industrial endeavour.
You will have access to cutting edge training in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) for 24 - 30 months, with some roles completing placements at other locations throughout the USA during the full course of the assignment.

Role & Responsibilities We are seeking candidates to undertake opportunities to deploy to US Navy shipyards (primarily Pearl Harbour, Hawaii) before the end of 2024.
Placements will be between 24 - 30 months.
During this time, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training.
Upon completion of the training, Trimmer/Upholsterer's (Fabric Workers) are required to work with a variety of different materials in the recovery of internal fit-out of the submarine including reupholstering of the seats, table covers, navy racks etc.
Refurbishment of surfaces on the submarine and fabrication of containment canopies and other associated requirements in maintenance activities This work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
Opportunities are available immediately and individuals wishing to express interest in a position should be available and interested in being repatriated in the near term.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.
Working and living in WA will be non-negotiable so please consider this when applying.

About The Role: Removal and fit-out of internal fixtures in the submarine.
Measuring laying and cutting fabric materials Reupholstering of chairs, table covers, door trims, navy racks etc Fabricate a variety of bespoke items such as tool bags, containment canopies, nuclear glove bags and other bespoke requirements.
Use of various hand and power/air tools.
Follow strict OH&S procedures.
Eligibility Criteria The successful person must possess: Any Australian accredited trade qualification Proven ability to be flexible and an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
Australian Citizenship An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance.
