The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is currently seeking applications for
Tribunal Officers
with positions available in our Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth CBD offices.
Remuneration:
The annual salary for the position is APS4 - $74,072 to $80,424 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
These positions are available primarily on a full-time ongoing basis.

The AAT plays a crucial role in the Australian legal landscape, providing a process for individuals and organisations to seek an independent review of decisions made under a wide range of Commonwealth laws.
It is an exciting time to join the Tribunal as we transition to a new merits review body on 14 October 2024 to be called the Administrative Review Tribunal.

About the opportunities:
The role of the Tribunal Officers is to support members and registrars in conducting reviews, including preparing for hearings and alternate dispute resolution events. Tribunal Officers may work in one or more divisions of the AAT and undertake duties that include case management, case analysis, user engagement and providing administrative assistance.
About you:
To be successful you will have:
Knowledge of the operations, jurisdiction, practices and procedures of the AAT, or an ability to quickly acquire that knowledge, and an ability to apply that knowledge when working on cases and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly developed organisational skills, including an ability to manage priorities and workloads, deal with conflicting demands, meet deadlines with limited supervision, and use case management systems.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and respectfully with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Sound judgement, able to use your initiative, develop new skills, and accept responsibility for personal development, productivity and adherence to policy and procedure.
The ability to research, comprehend and analyse information, and apply legal and policy frameworks to cases.
Desirable:
Tertiary qualifications in a field of study that might demonstrate some or all of the required capabilities OR relevant experience in a similar work environment OR subject-matter expertise related to one or more of the AAT's jurisdictions.
