Tree Root Maintenance Team Leader Citywide are recruiting for a Tree Root Maintenance Team Leader to join our crew working out of the Port Melbourne depot. In this role you will lead the team dealing with tree root issues affecting infrastructure and buildings. This role would suit anyone with an Arboriculture or Civil background with leadership experience who is looking for a new challenge.
Monday to Friday – 6.30am to 2.36pmDuties of the role include but are not limited to: Lead and work closely with the team to carry out underground tree maintenance duties, clearing the tree root area, identifying problems and installing barriers around the roots, while monitoring the area for services such as power, gas and water.Operation of air spade excavation toolManual, hydro and mechanical excavation of trenchesCapture images of works before, during and at completion of the jobSafe operation of demo saw and chainsawPerform open space maintenance works as required including tree planting, watering, minor concrete and asphalt worksAssist in instructing and guiding apprentices, tradespeople and labourersDrive and maintain equipment (trailer mounted machine, light trucks, tip-truck, excavator, Bobcat)Report daily performance against work objectivesIdentify and resolve work problems on siteOrder stock and materialsMentor and train new staff membersBe available for after hours 'on call' duties as part of a rosterSkill and qualifications required: 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar roleCert III in Horticulture, Arboriculture or LandscapingMR/HR licenceHydro/NDD experienceChainsaw TicketSkid Steer TicketEWPConfined SpaceFirst AidTraffic ManagementCert II ESIChemical certificate (Desirable)Good verbal and written communication skillsStrong time keeping and interpersonal skillsExperience with task scheduling and prioritisation softwareTeam orientated, highly motivated and able to follow instructionsIn return we offer: The job security that comes with our list of long-term contractsThe chance to make an impact in a rapidly expanding companyThe opportunity to further develop your skills in a strong, supportive environmentA workplace that focuses on safety firstA company with a culture of teamwork and respectAbout Citywide At Citywide, we are a proud company with a clear purpose and mission – we shape liveable cities by delivering the full scope of civil infrastructure, open space and environmental services to government and private enterprise.
