With our long-standing excellent track record and service experience globally, we work to ensure that we manage our clients' plants effectively to get the most out of each turbine while upholding to our commitment to safety standards.At Vestas Australia, we are currently seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Electrical and Mechanical Technicians that will help assist across AUNZ on multiple sites by providing and engaging in the commissioning, operation and maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators.In this role you will form a key part of the ANZ WTG People Resources team, reporting to one of the WTG Resource Supervisors.
Your primary focus in this role will be to support our Service business with efficient and high-quality execution of works, across multiple Windfarms and Construction sites throughout Australia and New Zealand.
At times there will also be opportunity to support throughout Asia.This role is a travelling role (100%), so significant travel will be required along with a need for high degree of flexibility.ResponsibilitiesUndertake a wide variety of tasks in support of the Service business, including commissioning of new wind turbines, 4,6 and 7 MW platform, site service support, scheduled service and breakdowns, CIM upgrades and special tasks changing of main components using the Liftra craneEnsure all incidents are reported within specific timeframe and assist the management through to completionObserving all work instructions, procedures, safety codes and practices, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulationsUndertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorization including operation of HV and LVParticipate in site toolbox, safety and other meetings as requiredMaintain company equipment, tooling and PPE to a high standardUtilising the Vestas systems, organize travel & accommodation for work assignments and training, maintain accurate and timely expense submission for approvalActively pursue personal development and look to share knowledge across the businessUndertake site inductions prior to assignmentRecording & reporting on activities with a high degree of accuracyQualificationsElectrical or Mechanical Trade certificate, or equivalent proven experience with Service Maintenance and Commissioning within the Vestas WTG PlatformsHigh level of WTG Safety & Technical TrainingValid Driver LicenseLiterate with PC & modern technologies to support your day-to-day workSafety focused and ability to find practical and compliant solutions to safety issuesAbility to read/interpret technical drawings and instructions, to support fault finding and/or maintenance activitiesHigh level of field-based experienceExperience in main components change outOrganised and high level of accuracy and attention to detailGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to participate effectively both individually and as part of teamAbility to work in pressure/time critical environmentFlexibility with work rotations to suit operational requirementsExperience with HV/LV, hydraulics and mechanical systemsAbility to work at heights and in confined environmentsWhat we offerWe offer an exciting opportunity to join the world's leading producer of wind turbines.
