ABOUT THE POSITION: Be the first point of contact for sub-contractors, customers and company fleet by assisting in the transport operations planning. Support the operations team and Branch Manager in delivering exceptional service to our customers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Manage the day-to-day transport service demands of the customer sites from receipt of transport orders to allocation to carriers, execution, and receipt of PoD (proof of delivery)Lead a team of drivers with a safety, training and development mindsetManage fatigue and compliance of driversPlan and schedule workloads for driver runsAs the first point of contact, liaise with customers to ensure contract requirements are met and jobs are completed on timeEnsure all pre-start, post-run, and minor day to day maintenance tasks are carried out on all equipmentManage and prepare detailed reports on labor efficiencies and overall cost managementDevelop and maintain good relationships with customer operational staff, carriers, and internal staff.Use of TMS (Transport Management System) to schedule, load build, capacity, route and drop routine optimize the transport orders before allocating to carriers.Ensure work area, and staff within the work area, comply with OH&S requirements and take corrective action to ensure all WH&S issues are resolvedDiligence - Pro-actively identify issues and discrepancies as a priority, ensure issues are resolved and reported to more senior management where requiredEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of road transport service delivery through use of optimisation and work flow systems and local allocation experience;Outstanding interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent self-management skills, including working effectively without direct supervision, managing and organizing fluctuating workloads in sometimes stressful situationsAbility to establish priorities and meet deadlines in line with good customer service principlesSound analytical skillsNext steps: If you are ready to submit your resume please select "Apply Now".
