Road Transport (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Full timeVestas has released a new position and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic self-starter to join our Transportation team as a Transport Readiness Specialist.The ANZ portfolio planning team is a function within the Supply Chain and Transport department located in the Asia Pacific Region. The team is responsible for the supply chain and transport planning of Vestas projects, working closely with internal stakeholders; sales, construction, global/regional planning, and technical management, as well as external stakeholders; clients, subcontractors, government departments, and local councils.As our newest team member, you will be responsible for planning and defining efficient and safe transport solutions for our projects from port of loading to sites. You will have a high degree of stakeholder interaction, engaging daily with key sub-regional departments covering from preliminaries transport studies to advise on transportability through to contract closing. Understanding OSOM transportation across states in Australia and in New Zealand while driving Vestas' minimum road requirements and manuals for wind turbine transportation.ResponsibilitiesPlan and define transport solutions for each project during the sales phase, working closely with subcontractors and construction.Provide technical support to Sales, Construction, and Procurement teams during negotiations and contracting with Subcontractors and Clients.Coordinate with the civil engineering team regarding civil design queries and optimizations that require feedback from Vestas' transport subcontractor.Manage requirements for public roads and on-site roads to support OSOM WTG transportation, working closely with subcontractors.Coordinate transport risk assessment with HSE.Awareness of project layouts and civil concept design to support the optimization of project layouts to improve constructability.Support long-term planning of transport equipment requirements and development with transport suppliers and the global readiness team.Provide technical support to Construction and the transport outbound team during project execution.Coordinate transport lessons learned with project execution.Coordination with various subject matter experts, both internal and external stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 7 years' experience in transportation or civil engineering.Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly.Technical awareness of wind turbine transportation, OSOM movements, or wind farm civil balance of plant works.Experience in negotiation on technical matters with both clients and subcontractors.Experience in the construction industry and renewables sector (desirable).Suitable software skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).Awareness of commercial contract items.Ability to self-manage as well as coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams.Strong verbal and written communication/negotiation skills.High degree of stakeholder interaction (both internal and external).What We OfferWe offer an exciting position in an inspiring environment at the world's number one wind turbine producer.You will become part of an international environment with a commitment to sustainability and safety, and you will work among colleagues that take care of each other.A positive safety culture.Diverse and fast-paced work environment.The opportunity to further develop your skills and professional development.
