Transport Regions  is a Division in Transport Services Group, and is responisble for provideing better transport experience connecting regional communities, businesses and visitors. About the Role Places of Work - Benalla and/or Bendigo (Flexibility may be available) The Transport Planner will support the Department's Regional Transport Strategy team's role in shaping the future Regional transport system to deliver a prosperous, connected and liveable Victoria. The role will work collaboratively across the transport portfolio, and with other government departments and agencies, Regional Partnerships and local government stakeholders to advance integrated land use and transport planning outcomes in Regional Victoria. This role will ensure the transport system delivers on the intention of the Transport Integration Act. Particularly ensuring users are at the centre of multimodal transport planning and that this planning is done in an integrated place-based manner across all modes. Role Specific Requirements The role necessitates a valid driver's licence and this position requires to travel frequently which may include weekend travels. However, there is no shift work or Public Holiday work involved. The candidate needs to effectively plan new projects, analyze their network-wide and long-term implications, engage with various stakeholders including regional industries, government agencies, and communities, prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations, integrate transport planning with land use planning and government policies, meet project objectives and timelines, monitor emerging trends, and ensure inclusivity by liaising with Aboriginal communities to enhance economic and social outcomes. Works with stakeholders/users to build prototypes and coordinate testing to validate the strategy, program or product. Ensures decisions are made within agreed timeframes. Qualifications and Experience Experience in transport or land use planning would be desirable. A relevant tertiary degree, particularly in transport or land use planning, would be well regarded.
