Transport Planner

Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Transport Planner for a 8-month temporary contract assignment.
As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for the development of the active transport and public transport components of council's Integrated Transport Strategy.
This will be an initial contract until the EOFY with hybrid working arrangements and immediate start available.
You will be responsible for: Developing sustainable transport strategies policies including: Active Transport, Public Transport, Cycling, walking.
Liaising with residents, state government, internal and external stakeholders.
Data analysis and updating/mapping routes vis GIS.
Conducting environmental impact assessments.
The ideal candidate will have: Transport Engineering/Planning experience, ideally within the public sector.
Ability to develop solutions to transportation network issues.
Experience developing active transport strategies.
Demonstrated experience investigating and developing traffic, public transport and active transport strategies.
A solid understanding of local government principles and practices.
