Competitive salary package including vehicle option.The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the planning, organising and full utilisation of all equipment and drivers, as well as customer management of major accounts with secure, long-term contracts.With a total staff of approximately 100 personnel including drivers and operations staff, the Operations Manager ensures all activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements, including:Leadership and management of people;Maintaining and developing effective customer relationships;Continually developing and improving levels of customer service;Ensuring optimal availability and utilisation of all assigned resources;Operational budget responsibilities;Ensuring adherence to company operating procedures;Maintaining and improving EHS and safety standards.About YouYou are an experienced Operations Manager, with at least five years transport industry experience. You want a career challenge in a progressive and highly regarded Australian business.Whilst industry experience in transportation is preferable, you may have a background in manufacturing, logistics, wholesale or distribution. Working in a similar sized business ($40M+) that is dynamic, family-owned and professionally run will be an advantage.Alongside your industry experience, you have excellent people management and relationship skills. You have a demonstrated ability to manage in a busy and complex 24/7 environment with a focus on safety, efficiency and service. You thrive on developing and leading a successful team and coaching your people to be the best they can be.Highly disciplined and organised, able to co-ordinate the resources of a busy operation;Passionate about safety and maintaining a vigilant approach to awareness, compliance and prevention, in a safe and healthy work environment;A leader by example who takes a collaborative approach to managing, coaching and developing others.Your experience will include:Five years in Operations Management or Senior Supervisory roles (transport or similar);Responsibility for planning, budgeting and controlling resources with 100+ staff;Strong communication and decision making skills - analytical, written and verbal;Experience in managing and leading a team;Responsibility for implementing and maintaining adherence to company procedures;Experience in managing productive, major customer relationships.Applicants will have a minimum of VCE/HSC education, ideally tertiary qualified, with further vocational training in related areas such as Operations Management, Supervision, Project Management or Quality Assurance.
