Transport Manager

We have a full-time position of Transport Manager in Cairns QLD 4870.SKILLS REQUIREDYou require at least a Diploma or equivalent qualification OR at least three years' of relevant experience.RESPONSIBILITIES:As the Transport Manager, you will be accountable for overseeing the efficiency of the Mareeba depot while adhering to the rules under the CoR. You will be supervising and assisting team members while ensuring the punctuality of receiving and dispatching of all freight. The position requires collaboration closely with all internal departments to ensure a seamless operational environment and consistently deliver outstanding customer service.REPORTING:You will report to the Managing Director / Human Resources Manager.DUTIES:Provide supervision, guidance, and direction to all depot team members to ensure efficient operations and teamwork.Manage the procurement and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment, and fuel.Engage with both internal and external customers, addressing their needs, and ensuring the timely delivery of freight while providing exceptional customer service.Engage with clients to understand their needs and offer advice and information on vehicle options, purchase or hire rates, obligations, and handling customer complaints.Liaise with the Tully Workshop to address vehicle maintenance issues, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, and keeping company vehicles in a clean, tidy, and roadworthy condition.Ensure that goods are stored and transported under optimal conditions to preserve their quality.Monitor payroll hours and provide a working roster focused on minimal hours.Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized depot environment.Coordinate the collection and delivery of vehicles and goods.Facilitate activities related to the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of trains.Assist in managing budget/cash flow by ensuring costs are kept to a minimum.Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.SALARYThe position will provide a salary from $80,000 - $100,000 per annum negotiated based upon your qualifications and experience.TO APPLYApplications in Word format should be forwarded to us by clicking the 'Apply' button below.
