Job DescriptionAn opportunity now exists with Fuel Distributors of Western Australia to join their dynamic 24-hour operation and play a critical role in managing the transportation of petroleum products within Western Australia. We are looking for an experienced Transportation and Fleet Manager to lead our fleet operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency while fostering a high-performing team environment.This role is responsible for managing a fleet of prime movers, rigid trucks, dollies, and tankers. The ideal candidate will lead a transport team consisting of schedulers, compliance, driver training, and the drivers themselves. The Transport/Fleet Manager's role is a key position for the company and works closely with other key members of the senior management team and reports directly to the General Manager.The position acts as a key contact for the supply of fuel and oversees:Fleet designEquipment acquisition and disposalRegulatory complianceDriver managementEquipment availability and schedulingOverall, the Manager's activities are to ensure customer orders are completed safely, within agreed timeframes, and in a cost-effective manner. Some of the key areas of responsibility include the following:Fleet and transport managementTeam leadershipDriver training and safetyCollaboration with the workshopOperational efficienciesRegulatory complianceGeneral safety and risk managementQualificationsThe successful candidate will have a sound understanding of:Fuel transportTrucks, trailers, and transport equipment in generalMechanical knowledge overallExperience in areas such as dangerous goods products and product control in the event of an accident will also be essential. These and other urgent operational issues will require an element of availability after hours and on-call.
