About your new branch Located in the Planning and Environment Directorate, the City Development Branch promotes sustainable development throughout the city that benefits the residents and the environment. You will be working within a supportive and driven team whilst having the support of great line leaders. You will be working as part of a team of 6 engineers/planners within the transport assessment team.  What you bring to your new role Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Planning, or equivalent, and practical experience in the application of transport planning/traffic engineering. Attention to detail and an ability to dissect and solve complex problems. Experience in development assessment against performance-based planning schemes with a strong working knowledge of City of Gold Coast's Planning Scheme, in particular, the Transport code. Ability to interpret technical drawings. Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and articulate complex/technical matters. The ability to work collaboratively and productively within a multi-disciplinary team environment and foster good relationships with employees and clients. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work. The following would also be desirable: Working knowledge of relevant design standards, including Austroads, Australian/New Zealand Standards, TMR's Road Planning and Design Manual, RMS' Guide to Traffic Generating Developments and other relevant standards and/or policies. Ability to assess Traffic Impact Assessment reports. Ability to review swept path analysis. For more information on the key deliverables of the role please find attached Position Brief. Interested?
