Ventia is now seeking a Transport/Driver (Team Leader) to join the team at Puckapunyal Defence Base. You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient delivery of transport operation supervision and driving duties where required on site.
Duties include: Provide a transport booking service for all allocated vehicles as instructed.Plan day to day operational transport activities as required.Plan schedule fleet vehicles to support training activities.Work closely with customer and attend meetings as required.Lead fleet office team and ensure customers transport, training and stores needs are met.Use and operate transport and maintenance management systems.Complete all relevant documentation and enter data.Transport of personnel, including taxi/shuttles, school bus runs and ceremonial occasions.Ensure vehicles are issued in a clean, fully functional state.Operate and manage Ventia's fleet vehicles, designated Defence fleet vehicles and hired vehicles.Compile and report on operation outcomes.Skills and experience: Must hold a Heavy Rigid license or Heavy Combination Licence.Computer literacy is essential.Experience in loading and unloading of cargo.Ability to interact effectively with technical staff, subcontractors and other stakeholders.Hold a Passenger Vehicle Driver Accreditation or be willing to obtain.Full-time, permanent role offering $32.62 per hour.Family friendly hours (Monday – Friday).Additional on the job training will be provided, where required.Guaranteed 2 weeks Christmas shutdown.You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
