We currently have a temporary vacancy for up to 5 years for a Senior Advisor (Finance) to join the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project. The LGC project will unlock the current bottle neck on the Southeast Queensland rail network to enable more services to run more frequently and reliably between Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast and is a key infrastructure investment ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With extensive track upgrades, 9 new train stations, 5 level crossing removals, park 'n' ride upgrades and new active travel pathways, this transformational project will deliver significant benefits to communities, customers and businesses along the 20km corridor.
As the Temp Senior Advisor (Finance) you will contribute to the management and coordination of key financial activities as part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Program Management Office (PMO) to support successful delivery of the projects.
Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide high-level support to the Business Manager, Principal Advisor (Finance) and broader LGC team on project financial performance. You will establish and implement key project financial controls, set budget expenditure forecast baselines, coordinate project reviews, monitor and analyse vital financial indicators. You will ensure consistent application across the program of works.
Contribute to regular project reviews in conjunction with project managers. Audit performance compliance and consistency with the established project financial management processes and systems.
Deliver efficient, high quality project reporting services including progress reports, data analysis, graphical report presentations, reporting templates enabling improved operational analysis and decision making across the organisation.
Provide specialist advice to the Business Manager and Principal Advisor (Finance) about issues, risks and implications relating to project performance, finance and delivery matters.
Contribute to financial tasks within TMR's project management systems, including project creation, submission of budget change requests, assignment of project cost codes and work breakdown structures. Undertake financial approval assessments to support procurement activity, financial completion and project finalisation activities.
Participate, guide and influence the development and continual improvement of financial control practices within the project. This includes promoting a consistent and professional approach to financial controls and associated data management.
