As a Senior Finance Advisor, you will be part of a team of passionate Finance professionals working in partnership with a range of clients and business areas across the organisation.
If you like variety then this role is for you. You will perform a business partner role with our key stakeholder base (Corporate Division branches and Director-General projects) by establishing and maintaining trusted working relationships with cost centre managers, project officers and leaders.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Performing a business partner role for a customer base across IT Branch, consisting of several diverse stakeholder groups, both internal and external to ITB. Preparing timely and accurate analytical financial reports for branch cost centre managers to assist in the monitoring of the financial position and to facilitate informed decision making. Advising and supporting managers in the development of budgets, business and financial planning, financial reporting obligations, and responsible fiscal management. Providing expertise, support and advice to branch officers in relation to financial compliance, budgeting and reporting. This includes providing expert advice in the use of associated budgeting and forecasting tools, project accounting and asset management. Maintaining personal expertise to provide professional advice in relation to financial management and reporting legislation, accounting standards, government policies and frameworks, and departmental policies and procedures. Requirements of the role: Management Accounting - While not mandatory, a degree or equivalent in accounting, commerce or business administration would be highly regarded as well as being a member of CPA/CA. Technical Capability - Well-developed skills in analysis and reporting on financial issues using computerised business systems and software. Drives accountability and outcomes - Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence and transparency. Demonstrates sound governance - Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards and upholding integrity. Makes insightful decisions - Able to gain insight into issues by analysing the available information in a critical manner. Able to describe the rationale behind decisions and work with others to recognise potential bias. Ability to contribute to the development of team objectives and recognises own role in achieving results. Relationship management - Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Foster and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with leadership and staff to facilitate results.
