The role is new and has been brought about due to the inclusion of a large pharmaceutical manufacturer located in Melbourne.
We seek an experienced and proactive Transport and Logistics Supervisor to oversee and enhance our daily transport operations.
This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of transport logistics, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and potentially air freight bookings and management. You will be critical in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring our team meets and exceeds safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support operations to coordinate and supervise daily transport movements, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and industry standards. Promote and implement OHS practices to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Act as the key contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, building solid relationships to optimize logistics processes. Manage vehicle movements, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries. Monitor and analyze transport performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.Lead and mentor your team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including Chain of Responsibility and workplace safety standards. Oversee airfreight management, including scheduling, compliance, and handling of sensitive cargo About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the transport or logistics industry. Expertise in OHS practices and the ability to promote a safety-first culture. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in managing relationships with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders. Problem-solving skills and a track record of driving process improvements. High-level organizational and time-management skills.
