Transition Officer

As Transition Officer, you will specifically:Assist in preparing young people to participate and engage in education, training and employment programs as required; and support the development of their interpersonal and self-regulation skills.Work collaboratively as part of a team to plan, deliver and refer young people to education, training, and employment.Work effectively within a statutory and non-statutory environment to provide support to young people during education, vocational training, work experience and employment.Collect and maintain accurate data and client records in accordance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and procedural requirements.Identify, liaise, and maintain strong working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders and community partners.Contribute to a departmental culture that ensures sensitive and effective communication with people from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds as well as an appreciation of cultural protocols and an awareness of the impacts of historical policies and practices.Requirements:It is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted driver's licence.A valid Blue Card is required to work with the organisation.Travel to regional centres and other offices will be required from time to time. This may include overnight stays.You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.Successful applicants will be subject to a criminal history check or blue card screening.
