About the role : As the Training Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering learning programs that enable Loram Operators and operations to meet, maintain and excel in performance standards across all rail maintenance practices.
This role prepares programs of instructions and training materials, delivers training, evaluates and assesses employee performance / competence, co-ordinates training supports, and provides support and coaching on-the-job to leaders and front-line workers.
Responsibilities include : Develop, procure, or redesign existing training programs that build and maintain employee competencies in line with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and all safety and environment standards. Deliver targeted and value-adding training activities across all operations teams. Support the onboarding of new employees and contractors and ensure compliance with competency standards with a change in role (transfers, promotions) or worker location. Maintain structures, processes and systems relating to effective administration of employee training, providing reports to management in relation to employee training status. Ensure training and processes are aligned with a world class, providing coaching and support to front line leaders and operations employees as required to achieve the Loram Way. Provide advice, where relevant, on matters such as the introduction of, or changes to, workplace improvements to enhance overall / high performance. Develop robust feedback channels for a continuous improvement approach to training at Loram, and actively liaise with all levels of the business to ensure training is meeting the required unit needs. Liaise with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) as necessary and where relevant to ensure training and assessment meets formal competency requirements. Maintain industry knowledge through participation in relevant workshops, professional development programs, and effective industry networking. This role requires a strong understanding of front-line operational requirements, significant experience as a trainer / technical writer with a functional understanding in the operation and maintenance of rail machines and equipment; and in-depth knowledge of competency frameworks and training assessment tools and practices; strong and engaging presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
About you : Minimum of 5 years' experience in rail maintenance or rolling stock / track machine operations mandatory. Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (current) desirable. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Training role, with in-depth exposure to competency and training requirements, RTO's, education providers, etc.

Highly organised and able to effectively plan and prioritise to meet deadlines and deliver results. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a high level of attention to detail.
