We have an enticing Training Officer position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Superpit Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed Open Pit Mining team on the convenience of a family friendly Kalgoorlie-based residential 7:7 roster, 12-hour days. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to progress in their Training career and gain exposure to delivering a well-rounded meaningful training experience.
Key AccountabilitiesSupport the departmental strategic training plan to guide long-term provision of the training and developmental function within the KCGM Open Pit Mining Department.Conduct orientations for new team members – providing them with welcome information and new starter packs.Coordinate the onboarding process and tours of the working area and facilities.Facilitate and present classroom learning slides and training, as well as coordinate simulation training.Ensure competency and compliance levels of the Open Pit Mining Department personnel involved with training and development are appropriately skilled.Provide regular updates on the training processes, including feedback to trainees in line with departmental requirements for knowledge.Maintain appropriate standards, processes, procedures and practices to ensure the department meets/exceeds internal and external training obligations.Provide mentoring and coaching for new personnel.Qualifications and ExperienceCertificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40112 (desired).Minimum two (2) years operating haul trucks in a mining environment.Minimum two (2) years in a similar training role, preferably within the resources industry.Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 & Regulations 2022.Familiarity with INX Database Modules such as InTuition.Familiarity with mining technology and heavy production equipment.Demonstrate experience in competency-based training and assessment methods.High level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite applications.Ability to communicate effectively across all levels to deliver training materials to operational personnel.Passion for Growth: A strong desire to be part of a team contributing to Northern Star's dynamic work environment where you will be valued as an integral part of the team, and where you can develop and grow with our business long term.
