About the RoleBroadmeadow is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people, 34 kilometres north of Moranbah. It is a longwall underground coal operation. We are currently seeking the expertise of a Training Coordinator. Reporting to the Superintendent Training & Contracts, you will be responsible for the practical implementation of the Broadmeadow Safety & Health Management System and training compliance, while managing and tracking the training competencies for all employees at the Mine.
The Training Department Technician, Specialist and School-Based Trainee will report directly to this role.
Key responsibilities include: Advise internal stakeholders on suitable course of action with regards to closing training compliance gapsFacilitate Trainer Assessor Appointment sessionsTeam leader to Training Specialists and Training Technician rolesOnboard and maintain any required employees and contractorsFacilitate communication channels for training requirementsCoordinate issues, settlement and disputes with training complianceSchedule and coordinate training RTO's for relevant RII competency trainingDocument management and record keepingParticipate in field leadership activitiesReview and monitor team KPI'sIdentify continuous improvement initiatives to drive process, cost and productivity improvements for Broadmeadow MineTrain end users (if applicable) on the training systemsCoordinate document reviews and training needs analysis updatesRaise and coordinate creation of Purchase Requisitions for RII competency training requirementsParticipate in Underground field leadership activitiesAbout YouAs the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience:
Formal qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Training, Human Resources or Organisational Development is advantageousTrainer Assessor QualificationExcellent communication skills and an ability to influence various stakeholdersWorking knowledge and skills in Microsoft Suite and SAP while experience with SuccessFactors would be highly regardedExperience with value-chain optimisationAbility to identify and project manage improvement opportunities and to build, promote and encourage a "step-up" culture within the departmentA strong desire to mentor and lead a teamThe ability to actively engage relevant stakeholders and enjoy collaboration and networkingProactive working style, great use of initiative and exceptional level of attention to detailAbout our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
