Full time, fixed term for 5 yearsOpportunity to work with leaders of the quantum workforce and be a part of Australia's growing quantum ecosystemBase Salary $140K - $148K + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe University of Sydney is seeking an experienced Training Centre Manager to effectively lead and manage a new ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Future Leaders in Quantum Computing (FLiQC) led by Professor Stephen Bartlett.FLiQC will identify tomorrow's leaders of the quantum workforce and provide them with capabilities over the full computing 'stack' of quantum devices, computer architectures and advanced algorithms, as well as agency over their high-tech careers by equipping them with broad skills and networks across the entire quantum ecosystem.In this dynamic role you will:Supervise staff in the Centre's operations team based at the University of Sydney and provide leadership to a virtual team spread across the Centre's other nodes at UNSW Sydney, UTS, Macquarie University, and the University of Western Australia.Liaise regularly with industry partners and assist with onboarding new nodes and partners to the Centre.Work closely with the Centre's advisory board to report on and assist with the delivery of the Centre's strategy.Liaise regularly with the leaders, chief and associate investigators, research fellows, postgraduate researchers and students across all nodes as well as a range of partners and stakeholders.Oversee the Centre's operational budget across all nodes, track key performance indicators, and prepare reports as required for management groups, external funding bodies, and governance committees.Play an active role in liaising with key stakeholders, managing the team's researchers, partners, and students, research planning, research commercialisation, ethics approvals, and helping to achieve the goals of the Centre while ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls, and a safe working environment for all staff.About youThe University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Training Centre Manager who has:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.Administration experience in a tertiary organization with the ability to establish, monitor and review administrative procedures.Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills including the ability to coordinate multiple work projects.Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, work cross-functionally and think both critically and strategically.Experience in strategic, operational and financial planning, implementation and monitoring of business performance.Financial management experience.Staff supervision, training, mentoring and performance management experience.Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
