Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded.

ABOUT THE ROLE: The Training and Development Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting staff in their use of business systems, education software, assistive technology, and creative industries applications. The role is responsible for planning adoption and change, producing training and reference material such as videos, system documentation, and user guides, and delivering training as a facilitator.
The Training and Development Officer reports to the Director of IT and is a member of the Flexi IT Team.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position (2 year project role), with a start date to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Expected travel 10% of the time, in particular to Flexi schools.
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE: Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.Familiarity with education sector data requirements and best practices is desirable.Appropriate qualifications and relevant professional experience:A Vocational Education and Training qualification in training and development or creative industries from a recognised tertiary institution, or other relevant qualification, would be well regarded.Experience in planning adoption and change activities involving systems and processes.Proficiency in creating training and reference materials such as videos, system documentation, and user guides.Experience in delivering training as a facilitator.Familiarity with the use of multimedia software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.Organisational and administrative capability to fulfil the functions of the role.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.Ability to develop collaboration, trust and confidence through listening, effective communication, and humility.Obtain Working with Children Checks in all jurisdictions.WHAT WE OFFER: Salary range: $80,000 to $95,000.12.75% Superannuation ContributionAs an employee of a PBI (Public Benevolent Institution) you will have the opportunity to salary sacrifice and increase your take-home pay.Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Connection to a national and global network of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition.HOW TO APPLY: To apply for a position, please complete the application form below.
