Primary objective: Provide a high standard of advice, assistance and support to management and staff to ensure compliance with Department of Corrections (Do C), Staff Learning and Development Team.
Perform financial and operational duties relevant to training, education and staff development in accordance with legislative requirements and ensure the operational effectiveness of the Do C Staff Learning and Development Centre in Alice Springs.
Key duties and responsibilities: Provide advice to Do C staff on the availability of training and education resources and any changes to legislation, policies and procedures.
Provide reception duties and support the Staff Learning and Development management team with accurate and timely administrative support and reports as required.
Provide Secretariat services to the Do C Training Governance Committee.
Provide advice to Do C staff and disseminate information with regards to studies assistance, availability of training courses and correct procedures for applying for same.
Update the computerised training database as directed by the Registered Training Organisations, Quality and Compliance Manager.
Manage the timely purchasing and payment of invoices via an electronic financial management system.
Coordinate the recording of internal and external course fees, and purchase of training and education equipment, training materials and training aids.
Selection criteria: Essential: High level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills that demonstrate effective team membership and the ability to work in a workforce development and training environment.
Proven skills in the effective use of computer based systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases and electronic payment systems.
Working knowledge of electronic records management and purchasing and procurement systems.
An ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people exercising sensitivity, empathy and maintaining confidentiality.
Proven initiative and adaptability with a high level of probity and conduct.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desirable: Previous experience using learning management systems.
Previous experience working in a training, education and staff development.
