Assistant to the trainer with a primary role in trackwork riding and stablehand duties.
Applicants must be able to ride trackwork and attend race days while performing general stable duties.
Key Responsibilities: Daily trackwork of a small team of approximately 6 horses in work on a private 1200m track assisting the trainer with the daily training routines. General stablehand duties, including feeding, grooming, and stable maintenance. 6 am weekday starts. Attend and assist on race days. What's on offer: Located on a private training stud in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Opportunity to work and collaborate with an experienced trainer and breeder with 40+ years of experience. Opportunity to work with and develop a small team of racehorses. Private accommodation of a quality 3-bedroom family home, completely separate from the trainer's residence. Quiet, farm country-side living. 5 minutes from the Woodford township, 45 minutes from the Sunshine Coast and an hour from the Brisbane CBD.
