Oasis Youth Services is an expression of The Salvation Army, supporting young people in the Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter regions, on their journey to independence. About The Role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Trainer Assessor to deliver high-quality training programs, including the delivery of classroom-based and supervision of students' work placements. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a casual hybrid position based in NSW. The successful applicant will work at Wyong, Hamilton, and remotely. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Labour Market Assistance Award Level 2.
You will successfully
Provide services and support to young people in a way that is aligned to The Salvation Army's mission & values and the National Model of Care for Youth Services.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement quality initiatives.
Plan, design, and schedule vocational training courses.
Source and contextualise training materials to meet the learner needs, ensuring they are engaging and meet current industry requirements.
Provide culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Record all client data, interactions, and assessments.
Participate in recruitment and enrollment of students.
Mark submitted assessments within the required time frame, providing meaningful feedback to the learner.
You will have
Relevant hospitality qualifications.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
A current paid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
Demonstrated experience in the field of vocational education and training and hospitality industry in Australia.
Demonstrated experience in delivering training to diverse participant groups, face to face, online, and by distance.
Computer skills – Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn database programs.
Effective verbal and written communication, listening, and networking skills.
The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
Compassion and professionalism in all actions and ethics.
Energy, flexibility, initiative, and integrity with a positive and friendly attitude.
