Reference Number: 1724 Closing Date: 05-12-2024 Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (15 August 2025) Location: Tara Customer Service Centre About the Opportunity Based in Tara, The Traineeship Support Officer is responsible for providing support and guidance to trainees employed by Western Downs Regional Council for a 6-month period under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program in the Maintenance, Hospitality, and Administration areas.
Trainees will be hosted externally and you are required to work with both internal and external stakeholders to support trainees in completing their traineeship and support trainees in finding employment opportunities in the Tara area upon completion of their traineeship.
The position is full time fixed term until 15 August 2025.
Reporting to the Economic Development Program Leader, you will be: Completing pre-training assessment and tailoring program appropriately to the trainees.
Conducting one-on-one meetings and ensuring trainees are engaged and tracking the progress of the traineeship e.g., work and study component.
Supporting trainees in workforce preparation activities.
Introduce trainees to local networks and networking opportunities and support trainees in finding employment in local Tara Businesses upon completion of the traineeship.
Attending local interagency meetings for the purposes of promoting the program throughout the local community.
Managing the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Program budget and submitting acquittal to the Queensland Government.
About yourself The successful applicant will have: Strong consulting capabilities and the ability to establish credibility, relationship management, and influence with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Program.
Facilitating, evaluating, and monitoring learning programs and the ability to deliver effective training methods to suit participants with diverse across a range of audiences (e.g., low literacy/numeracy levels and work experience) within a large and complex organisation.
Strong influencing skills, with proven ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Experience in delivering non-accredited vocational training to participants.
