The Role: The trainee sonographer will undertake supervised training in performing ultrasound examinations while undertaking studies in ultrasound at an accredited university.
You will need: Be enrolled in a course in diagnostic ultrasound conducted by a university accredited by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.Be registered with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry as an Accredited Student Sonographer.The Team: The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) provides a medical imaging service to Southern Tasmania and a statewide service in some areas. The Ultrasound Section of DMI performs ultrasound examinations for all referring medical specialties.
As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Details of appointment: Fixed term, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twenty-four (24) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$73,834 to $111,364 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Eligible for enrolment for training in diagnostic ultrasound with an accredited university and either hold or be eligible to attain current status of "Accredited Student Sonographer" (ASS) with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.
