Mental Health Services, Statewide, Various LocationsSalary MDP-2 $96,690 - $144,291 p.a.Multiple full-time temporary positions from 3/2/25 up to 7/2/28 About the rolePost graduate training in psychiatry in South Australia is organised by the South Australian Psychiatry Training Committee under the direction of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists' Committee for Training. The training occurs over 5 years, and consists of 3 stages; stage 1 a minimum of 12 months in Adult General Psychiatry. Stage 2 a minimum of 24 months in a range of experiences such as, Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Consultation\Liaison Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Forensic Psychiatry and Addiction Disorders. In stage 3 the Trainee may choose to specialise in one of the above sub-specialty areas and training occurs over a minimum of 24 months.An academic course covering all the important areas of psychiatry is provided. The formal training program is provided to all trainees for 3 hours per week during working hours. In addition, 4 hours of supervision per week is given to all trainees by experienced, qualified psychiatrists who have received training and accreditation in supervision.
