This innovative and progressive business produces essential products for the global steelmaking and other industries, employing approximately 100 people in Australia, with key manufacturing operations in the Illawarra, NSW.
The plant is a materials handling and processing operation, consisting of crushers, screens, blenders, mixers, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
The plant has a mix of old and new technology, requiring scheduled, preventative, and breakdown maintenance, as well as a continuous focus on a variety of plant improvement and upgrade projects.
The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to join our team as a Trainee Plant Engineer.
This role offers a unique pathway to becoming a plant engineer without acquiring a large HECS debt at university, by learning on the job, complemented by additional tertiary training at TAFE or other educational institutions.
Working alongside the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Team, you will help to keep the plant available for production, minimise breakdowns, and seek to improve the way the manufacturing plant operates.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the maintenance and optimization of plant operations.
Collaborate with experienced engineers and tradespeople to troubleshoot and solve engineering issues.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant efficiency.
Learn and apply engineering principles in a practical, hands-on environment.
