Trainee Network Controller

Aurizon will provide you with a combination of classroom and on-the-job training with experienced Network Controllers.
A key component of the role is the ability to remain alert and apply multiple contingency plans at the same time when required.
We are looking for people that can work shift work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week once qualified.
What do Network Controllers do? Working around the clock, 365 days a year our Controllers coordinate timely response to incidents or accidents that happen within the Aurizon rail corridor.
Deliver high levels of service performance on the Aurizon Bulk Central network by managing, controlling, and monitoring the movement of trains and on-track vehicles. Ensure that Network Control activities comply with all safety requirements specified in legislation, Aurizon Bulk Central's Safety and Security Management. Ensure that rail operators and infrastructure providers are provided with the correct track access in accordance with the daily train plan, specified train plans, contractual requirements, possession protocols and contingency plans where relevant. Successful candidates in these roles: Are flexible thinkers, willing to embrace imagination and change. Have a commitment to safety and proven ability to apply safety management principles. Use exceptional communication skills to provide excellent customer service. Prioritise work to meet exacting timelines. Have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to respond calmly when under pressure. Work in a 24 / 7 fast-paced rail environment.
