About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and practical Trainee Development Engineer who has a 'hands-on' approach to their work to assist our Development Engineers in all engineering aspects of development assessment, subdivision certification, and construction of new infrastructure.
In return, you will gain experience in all aspects of assessing civil engineering work relating to new development, as a footstep towards a career in Development Engineering. Successful applicants will also be required to successfully undertake relevant tertiary studies and will have their university course expenses covered (conditions apply).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Currently undertaking a university degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable:
Experience in Local Government Civil Construction/Design
Ability to work in a team environment
Current Class 'C' Driver's licence
General construction induction card (White card)
Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
Computer literate
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Availability to work flexible working hours.
Remuneration and Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement:
Trainee rates apply
35-hour working week
Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
