Role Overview An opportunity to learn broking from the ground up, to develop a long term and rewarding career on the FX Forwards Desk. The Forwards (FWD) desk focuses on the fixing of exchange rates for a particular date in the future and is used to hedge foreign currency risk. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to understand how the FWDS desk acts as an intermediary facilitating Forward FX trades in the wholesale financial markets.
Role Responsibilities Promote Tullett Prebon / TP ICAP Group as a companyProvide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the deskIdentify trade opportunities and calculate strategiesMaintain and develop existing client relationships and make contact with prospective new clients where appropriateMaintain an up to date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work; actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferencesUnderstand the desk's business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clientsOn-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding teamAssess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross selling opportunitiesUnderstand pertinent regulation within the evolving regulatory landscapeSupport a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with group policiesExercise independent judgement and act with integrity, care, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriateExperience / Competences Essential High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing tasksEffective time management skills and the ability to prioritise with a sense of urgencyAbility to problem solvePeople orientated, ability to engage with different types of peopleDemonstrated resilienceDesired A degree in economics, finance or related fieldPrevious sales experienceJob Band & Level: Professional, 4 Not The Perfect Fit?
