Talk to us about what flexibility may look like for you.Period of AppointmentAppointment to the role is on a permanent full-time basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight).DutiesMonitor and manage the operation of a range of transport systems from the Traffic Management Centre that are related to traffic signals and traffic flow optimization, to prevent and alleviate traffic congestion on the road network.Identify problems in traffic flow by using a range of systems, surveillance devices, monitoring facilities and other inputs and intervene to provide short term resolution of traffic flow problems based on established procedures.Manage incidents, hazards, major events and public safety issues, initiate appropriate action to resolve and/or improve the situation and log actions taken.Advise the appropriate emergency services of accidents and hazards, report on and monitor the follow up action.Undertake the analysis and optimization of traffic flow using traffic control systems.Analyse intersection and network traffic performance and identify and implement appropriate traffic management improvements using traffic control software.Specify, code, verify and test traffic signals control software using established procedures.Provide a public contact point for the Traffic Management Centre that is responsive to queries or complaints from the public and provide daily traffic reports to the local media in addition to providing real-time information to senior management.Actively contribute to maintaining the currency of traffic monitoring systems as well as the collection of data.Prepare written documents including correspondence, reports and enquiries.Undertake consultation and assessment of permits for activities within the State Road Network in line with established processes.Liaise with relevant parties to facilitate the resolution of faults relating to traffic signals, Intelligent Transport Systems and other traffic related systems.Monitor and maintain a high standard of work quality, service delivery, and compliance with regulations, codes and specifications.A person is to provide evidence that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.A person is vaccinated against COVID-19 if the person has received all of the doses of a vaccine for COVID-19, necessary for the person to be issued with a vaccination certificate in respect of COVID-19 by the Australian Immunisation Register, or an equivalent document from a jurisdiction outside of Australia.A person may be granted an exemption from the requirement to be vaccinated against the disease where the person demonstrates:Medical contraindicationA person is unable to be vaccinated against the disease due to a medical contraindication if they:provide evidence in a form provided and accepted by the Head of Agency from a medical practitioner which certifies that the person has a medical contraindication that prevents them from being vaccinated against the disease.Orhave a medical exemption, that applies to the vaccinations for the disease, that has been recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register, operated by or on behalf of the Commonwealth Government.Exceptional circumstances demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Head of Agency.Minimum QualificationsPrevious experience in traffic engineering, management of road networks or real-time monitoring systems.Demonstrated or ability to readily acquire knowledge of traffic flow modelling, data analysis and traffic signals timings development.Diploma in a related discipline.How to applyTo apply, please provide a one to two page document outlining your experience, skills and knowledge as they relate to the Statement of Duties, and a copy of your current Resumé/CV.Online applications are preferred, please click the blue Apply Now button.Contact InformationPhone: 0436917703
