Bundaberg Sugar currently has a great opportunity available for a dual role undertaking the duties of a Traffic Officer during the crushing season and duties of a rollingstock maintainer during maintenance season.
ROLE DESCRIPTIONS During crush season, the Traffic Officer ensures the safe, orderly, and efficient flow of traffic and is responsible for the scheduled movement of track-mounted vehicles, cane transport, traffic office and cane railway maintenance operations.
During maintenance season, the rollingstock maintainer undertakes the duties of an asset maintainer and reviews and update all documents associated with railway safe working and communicates these changes to the Cane Supply team.
The successful applicant's responsibilities include; Liaise with internal and external parties growers & harvesting contractors.
Develop a Daily Transport Plan that aligns with the Master Train Plan.
Provide the Road Transport Controller with Daily Transport Plans for both Rail and Road Bins delivered under a contract arrangement from across the region.
Control of the safe and efficient movement of track mounted vehicles, maintenance personnel and third-party persons across the entire cane rail network.
Perform prompt, timely, clear and relevant communication with all parties and other personnel regarding harvest and transport issues using a range of communications equipment including 2-way Radio, Telephone, Fax and Email.
Adjust the Daily Transport Plan to meet the changing requirements of the Miller and Growers.
Ensure that Non-Relative, North Side Growers and Cane Swap transport tasks, are delivered collectively as per the Master Transport Plan.
Adjust harvesting quotas using TOTools and other transport management software to ensure a continuous cane supply and equity between the relative growers and harvest groups.
Observe closely all performance, rates of production, equipment performance, quality control criteria and record and then report all assigned observations.
Prepare and distribute a range of administrative reports associated with the cane transport function Qualifications and Experience: A sound understanding of the Cane Supply Code of Practice and Asset Management System Experience in the development of safe working documents Experience in the Risk Assessment process for level crossings Experience in a scheduling role working in a complex, multi-faceted environment.
Current drivers licence A Certificate 3 in Rail Maintenance is desirable.
