Mechanical Tradesperson required to work for Australia's largest rail operator, based in Perth at our Forrestfield maintenance depot.
About the role:
As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various mobile and fixed plant, and infrastructure across the depot to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards. Your efforts will help keep depot maintenance services running smoothly by:
Performing routine, corrective maintenance and fault repairs on depot plant including compressors, pressure vessels, lifting tables, light vehicles, forklifts and various other equipment.
Maintaining the tool store and equipment register coordinating testing with service providers.
Reporting actual work completed versus scheduled tasks.
Adhering to technical and operational specifications for all work performed.
Keeping detailed records of asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs.
Advancing work procedures and practices to drive continuous quality improvement.
Providing support to other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement.
Mixing Nitrite for locomotives, including monitoring a Reverse Osmosis system and fuel farm.
Dealing with LV fleet management such as services.
Assisting on occasions with coordinating contractors when they attend depot for work.
Managing plant inventory spare parts.
About You:
Strong dedication to safety.
Current unrestricted WA driver's license (Essential).
Forklift & HR licence advantageous.
Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding.
Experience with the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial plant and light vehicles is preferred, but not essential.
Experience with SAP Computer Maintenance Systems, SharePoint and General Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a category one rail medical, which include drug and alcohol screening. The role is Monday to Friday on standard day shift hours.
