About the Role The purpose of this role is to provide a quality and safe Mechanical maintenance service on plant and equipment at our Mount Piper Power Station and other external customers in accordance with policies and procedures, safe work practices and the environment. You will be accountable for the effective maintenance and repair of relevant plant and machinery.
As part of the onsite multi-discipline maintenance team, you will take personal ownership, ensuring the highest standards of workplace health & safety and quality of work are achieved.
Duties and Accountabilities Apply mechanical trade skills gained from a relevant apprenticeship, industry experience, Workcover certificates, on the job training to perform quality maintenance. Undertake routine maintenance and emergency repair of all Mechanical Plant and equipment. Mentor, coach and guide apprentices and other team members Provide regular updates to the Team Leader / Team Members regarding plant repair status / issues found. Follow documented procedures to ensure quality is applied to all work undertaken. Hold certification to apply for and receive Permits to Work Qualifications, Skills and Experience Completion of an apprenticeship and Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (or equivalent) Power station experience or related heavy industry experience Experience in installation, maintenance, isolation, and restoration within heavy industry Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices and WHS legislation Post Trade or additional qualifications in Fitting / Welder / Machinist would be advantageous High risk license in Basic Rigging, dogging, Forklift and EWP/Boom would be advantageous Our EnergyAustralia way
