You will be a pivotal member to assist in a field-based role managing the day-to-day operations by providing technical expertise, leadership and assistance to the field trades team and external sub-contractors.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Build and manage a team of trade-qualified specialists working across a portfolio of schools, hospitals, and prisons. Quality Assurance: Conduct and action Site Quality Assurance Audits with the client and independently, ensuring all work aligns with the scope of works. Supervision & Coordination: Lead onsite trade teams, coordinate tasks, and ensure smooth operation of maintenance activities. Inspections & Maintenance: Perform inspections based on job allocations and coordinate maintenance works to completion. Compliance: Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with OH&S regulations, including obtaining certificates of compliance for certified work. Quotations & Pricing: Assist with quotations, pricing jobs, and budgeting work requirements. Workplace Safety: Ensure all Safe Work Method Statements (SWMs) and work instructions are up-to-date and adhered to, report any OHS incidents, and mitigate risks. Communication: Maintain effective communication with staff, stakeholders, contractors, and visitors to ensure smooth site operations. Hands-On Assistance: Provide general maintenance and repair support when needed. Key Requirements: Trade Background: Comprehensive knowledge of various trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and painting. Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and building effective teams. Customer Service: Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. OHS Expertise: In-depth understanding of OH&S regulations and compliance requirements. Administrative Skills: Proficient in general office administration, including Microsoft Office and work order scheduling systems. Institutional Coordination: Experience in managing work around the unique schedules and operational demands of institutions such as hospitals and prisons, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities.
