Trade Manager, Food and Fibre Exports Fixed term role: until 30 June 2027Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: Gippsland including Mornington Peninsula (flexibility may be available)The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food and Fibre Exports, the regionally based Trade Manager leads and implements Austrade TradeStart services and activities on behalf of Global Victoria, the official trade promotion and facilitation branch within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) of the Victorian Government.
TradeStart is Austrade's key partnership model for delivering export advisory services to Australian businesses.
Global Victoria's partnership with Austrade to deliver TradeStart in regional Victoria, is to provide new and established Victorian exporters with practical trade advice, build export plans and capability, and provide tangible connections to global markets through Austrade and Victorian Government Trade and Investment Offices (VGTIs).
Main responsibilities:
Provide new and established Victorian exporters (clients) with one-on-one specialist trade advice, build export plans and capability, and provide tangible connections to global markets through Austrade and Victorian Government Trade and Investment Offices (VGTIs).Proactively identify priority clients across key food and beverage sectors, evaluate their market readiness and capability and provide effective business development assistance and referrals.Frequently analyse current trends, industry data and global market intelligence to offer relevant and timely advice to businesses, the Austrade network, and Victorian Government stakeholders.About You The successful incumbent must possess strong commercial acumen, exceptional client service skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
A relevant tertiary degree in business, international relations, trade, or a related field would be well regarded, with additional certifications, training or experience in trade management, supply-chain logistics, export development, or similar areas highly desirable.
Commercial agri-food experience would also be desirable.
