Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor , the Trades Assistant will provide essential ancillary support to the workshop team by assisting with various tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations for customer WIP.
This role involves working closely with the workshop Leading Hands & Floor Personnel, performing general daily tasks and, when required, ad hoc requirements.
Key responsibilities: Support with preparation of materials, tools, equipment and delivery or collection of items.
Maintenance of tools and equipment ensuring cleanliness and proper storage.
Organising and tidying work areas, laydown bays, WIP.
Loading and unloading of materials and parts around the yard.
Adhere to safety work practices, processes and procedures.
Manage inventory such as chemicals, consumables and ordering supplies.
Roster: 5 Days, 2 off – 9-hours each day plus 30 mins break.
To be successful, the following is required: Excellent attention to detail and meticulous.
Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trade.
Experience in a similar work environment or service mining industry.
Ability to work effectively within a team & autonomously.
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
