About the Role: The primary purpose of this position is to oversee effectively coordinate the day-to-day operations of the administrative functions for the Trade and Traineeship Support Unit within the VET Directorate.
This role involves providing leadership and mentoring to TSU Administration staff, ensuring the maintenance of high customer service standards towards our Apprentices, Trainees, Employers and internal stakeholders through the Trade and Traineeship administrative procedures and processes and enuring they are enrolled and are on a current Traineeship contract.
Duties: Prioritise the daily administrative activities, supervision, and coordination of work for the TSU administrative team to ensure provision of a high level of customer advice to apprentices, trainees students and internal stakeholders.
Develop, implement and maintain oboarding programs for TSU administration staff and provide ongoing support to, foster their professional growth and development.
Ensure that all staff are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Plan and prioritise administrative tasks including database establishment and management, word processing, organisation of meetings and events, and develop and maintain collated data.
Contribute, participate, and implement improvements to Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs in consultation with VET Directorate Administrator, VET Managers, Academic Registry, Quality Assurance, and all other institute support services.
Use advanced administration skills to oversee and optimize the TSU administrative functions within the VET Directorate, ensuring efficiency and high standards of customer service.

Skills and Experience Required: Relevant Business qualifications together with extensive administrative experience and skills, including the ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines and prioritise and manage staff workload.
Expert capacity in the use of information and communication technologies to administer projects, programs and filing systems utilizing appropriate software and packages.
Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the full Microsoft suite, including Teams/Sharepoint, Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
Understand Student Management Systems and Monitoring of the State Government system Epsilon.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability required to perform the role.
Experience in working with apprentices and trainees is required.
