Track Inspector - Donald

Current Roster hours 7:30am- 4:00pm on a 9-day fortnight
Permanent Full-Time role in a stable reliable industry
Generous Hourly rate of $44.25 + super, Fortnightly EDOs, 4 weeks annual leave and allowances.

About the role
The Track Inspector is integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development, Assets & Maintenance Group.
Based out of Donald, the Track Inspector is responsible for the safety, maintenance, and inspection of the allocated sections of track from St Arnaud to Speed.
Key Accountabilities include:

Inspect and monitor rail wear, rail creep, flooding, joint condition, and buckles as well as repair minor issues during inspections if required.
Submit detailed reports on renewal or rail infrastructure maintenance items.
Supervise and participate in the replacement or renewal of track work materials as well as repairs and maintenance of V/Lines and other Infrastructure assets.
Monitor third-party activities on leased property and ensure their works do not affect the safety of the rail infrastructure.
Ensure that all work is performed following the appropriate Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Regulations.

About you
We are looking for a suitably qualified track Inspector who is safety-focused, has good communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of track components.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
Able to work autonomously and has basic computer capabilities.
Successful completion of the certificate II – Rail Infrastructure.
Track inspector skill set qualification is essential.
Safe Working Certificate Level 4
The willingness to work on call, overtime, different shifts and travel when required.
