Senior Solicitor / Senior Deputy Principal Legal Officer Job description TP Human Capital is currently recruiting for a Senior Solicitor / Senior Deputy Principal Legal Officer to work with our Not-for-Profit Organisation with positions based in Townsville.
With a strong commitment to assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are victims of family violence and/or sexual assault.
The focus of this role oversees the legal practice's service delivery, ensures compliance, and delivers high-quality legal representation in family law jurisdictions.
The Role Manage and monitor the Service Delivery team's performance against targets and standards.
Conduct regular file reviews and audits for compliance, providing reports to the Deputy Principal Legal Officer.
Supervise, lead, and support the service delivery team in providing quality legal services to affected individuals.
Develop and facilitate community education sessions in collaboration with the Compliance and Research Officer.
Draft business reports and submissions in conjunction with the Deputy Principal Legal Officer.
Network and liaise with community organizations, legal service providers, and government departments.
Develop and implement community legal education programs.
Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Undertake regular and extensive travel.
The Person Tertiary qualification in Law.
Admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland.
Holder of (or eligibility for immediate acquisition of) a current unrestricted Practising Certificate.
Expertise in practice areas, including Family Law, Child Protection, Family and Domestic Violence, and Victims Compensation and Assistance.
Current open drivers' licence and Working with Children Blue Card.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Proven experience in maintaining best practices in legal advice and casework services.
Holder of a current Queensland driver's license.
Holder of a Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain one.
Willingness to undertake a National Police Clearance check.
