About the Role This position plays a key role in providing technical support and advice for the delivery of water and environmental projects. This will include:
Assist with the continued development and implementation of the Integrated Water Management Strategy for Townsville. Participate in the development, delivery and reporting on the Water and Resource Recovery Capital and Operational plans. Assist in the development of concept designs/operational solutions and associated reports for required infrastructure. Utilise SCADA systems to diagnose and solve water system issues as well as identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement. Drive operational improvement projects with the goal of improving aspects of water quality and supply. Assist operations staff in diagnosis and rectification of water supply and quality issues at both water treatment plants and throughout the water network. The role will be required to assist and provide operational coverage for the Operations Centre for up to 10 weeks per year and be available for on-call arrangements as required to resolve out of hours operational issues.
About You Our ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering. Experience in a water treatment or distribution related field or specific role is desirable. Demonstrated interest, capacity and commitment to develop skills and knowledge relating to the water and wastewater industry. Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team with solid time management and organisational skills.
