About the Role This position is a key operational leadership role purposed with leading the teams and delivering exceptional operational standards, operations risk management and oversight of critical assets such as water and wastewater treatment plants and bulk water infrastructure.
The role will:
Lead the treatment operations group to identify and resolve operational and/or engineering performance issues, to promote and encourage industry best practices to enable the safe, reliable, and affordable water and wastewater treatment services. Develop and manage a management/engineering framework to manage key asset portfolio risks and risk management strategies associated with reliable operation of the treatment plants and bulk water asset. Act as TCC representative as required for day-to-day operations and project delivery contracts. About You Our successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Chemical or Civil engineering or equivalent, and you will be a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) or have the ability to obtain RPEQ within 12 months of appointment. Extensive experience in managing and operating complex water and wastewater treatment systems or similar is essential.
You will have the ability to interpret and understand relevant legislative context applicable to water infrastructure operations and implement operations strategies to achieve complete regulatory compliance along with the ability and experience in managing operations and capital works budget.
Experience leading and empowering teams of engineers, technical professionals, and treatment plant operators along with an ability to identify, manage and solve engineering problems with a pragmatic and safety-driven attitude with a positive customer experience focus.
Your ability to analyse, interpret and present data on complex operational/engineering issues to enable data-driven decisions and effective solutions will be evident as will your highly developed communications, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
